DON'T PANIC.

I just saw the rudest post and since I really want to respond, but know that is a bad idea, I’m just going to regurgitate all my scattered thoughts/feelings on here.

The Basics:

• Dealt with Community
• Talked about Jeff/Annie
• Apparently they hate Jeff/Annie and hate all Jeff/Annie shippers

Right, I obviously am a shipper, and I do ship them, but because I do, it doesn’t mean I hate other ships. It’s not an exclusion type thing. It’s not like I only have enough love for that one ship. That’s not how love works, you can love more than one ship/child/person.

I’m not ridiculously intense when it comes to everyone knowing about my ships (I realize that most of my posts on Tumblr concern the ships I do like, but isn’t that the point of Tumblr? To share things I like), but there are some extreme shippers out there. (I’m pretty sure fandom has dulled my senses when it comes to different levels of extremity and my reaction to it. Seriously.) Maybe, I’m good at avoiding them, not as active as the other person is in Community, or my crazy radar is off.

But that level of aggression towards a fictional ship is uncalled for. While it never went out and said, “Fuck you J/A shippers!” That was clearly the message. 

I have a symbol of a fandom that I love tattooed on my body but somehow I have managed to not get in ship wars, not flame anyone, and if a story or post has a ship or characterization I don’t like, I’ll move on and stop reading. Seriously, simple as that. You don’t have to go on a diatribe about the specific moments in the show that were not to your liking. It’s one thing to have something you dislike about the last episode and offering your review/critique/reasons, but you have essentially said, “You’re wrong and dumb for thinking that way!” when there isn’t a correct answer yet. 

Yes, you are entitled to your opinions and while I would not defend to the death your right to say that particular statement, I will concede I’m all about the first amendment.

p.s. I am a comma whore!
p.p.s. I need to go back to college and take a writing class, because I feel sincerely out of touch. That’s so sad.

Finally watched the new episode of Community. I actually wanted to skip parts of it, but I’m glad I didn’t. It’s not that I didn’t like it, but I just wasn’t a fan of the whole Asian!Annie story line. Mostly because, I can 100% relate to Annie on that factor of not letting anyone get more gold stars than you, so essentially watching her compete stressed me out. (I’m so lame, haha!) 

Also I fully endorse more Lionel Richie songs being used! Especially “Hello”!

Cable is out. Can’t watch Community or Parks and Recreation. Don’t have DVR. Have to wait until tomorrow/later tonight (wpp). >|
