Watching the pilot of Grimm. Hope this is worth it for the Nick and Monroe-ness. I hear Monroe is awesome but doesn’t show up until the last bit of the pilot.
My thoughts/opinions as I watch the show:
Hoooorrrrrible music choice. Really? The Eurythmics’s “Sweet Dreams” that just happens to be a on a loop on her ipod? That would be the most boring jogging music ever if it was one song on a loop.
Definitely made me jump
Aunt Marie is scary
Yo, your boyfriend just killed someone, while I don’t think Nick needs to be coddled, some understanding maybe? (I slightly missed the part where Marie goes to the hospital, so maybe there was this kind of understanding then) I may have read too much into, “I think it’s just a cat” all flippant like
Hank is awesome
Nick … I’m still not convinced by him. Right now, he’s meh, but since he’s our protagonist, here’s hoping he’ll get better!
Is he marking his bushes? Omg, haha!
Monroe is definitely a scene stealer
Watching this on Hulu, so it will add numbers to something and the ads are loading horribly. The show is streaming fine, but when it goes to a new ad. Horrible. It hates my internet.
The villain is creepy. Not scary. Creeeeeeeeeepy
I like the touch of the red jackets being the mementos the killer keeps.
And…the special effects leave something to be desired, but it is a tv show and not a movie. I’m curious to see how make up vs. cgi would look, or just not really showing us the fairy tale creatures and see what kind of impression that would make.
It’s an alright show. I really do like the premise and while I’m not wowed by Nick, it’s the first episode and hopefully he gets better. He just heard about the Grimm lifestyle and it make sense that he doesn’t accept it automatically. He’s our straight guy, and while I normally like the straight man, I like them even more when they accept what’s going on, deal with that shit, and become fully competent. (a la Arthur)
I’m not wowed by Juliette, but we didn’t really learn anything about her in this episode either. I’m sure she’s awesome, but since she was just suppose to be the love interest waiting on Nick in this episode, I really shouldn’t expect too much. I would love for her to kick ass and help out Nick, and not just in a being a human/non-mythical/emotional touch stone kind of way.
Right ending this, before I write more paragraphs. :)
“But Sherlock Holmes never hates it when he’s right!”
Without a word Holmes hurried to a carriage, and during the long seven miles’ drive he never opened his mouth. Seldom have I seen him so utterly despondent. He had been uneasy during all our journey from town, and I had…
